The April 1-15 edition of the Media Foundation for West Africa’s Ethics Monitoring report has observed nine (9) news organizations flouting various media ethical principles.
During the period of monitoring, 890 media contents were analyzed with a total of 91 violations being recorded by the team. Out of the 91 violations recorded, popular news website, Ghanaweb.com recorded the highest number of violations with 46 counts. Â This was followed by Pro NDC radio station Power FMÂ with (17) counts of violations. Also, Pro NPP radio station Oman FM recorded (9) violations whilst Accra FM recording (6) violations during the period of monitoring.
Regarding the specific ethical principles violated, the principle of Decency was the most violated with (46) counts, followed by  Good Taste and Public Sensibilities(14)  and Accuracy (11). For once, the Principle of Protection of minors was violated (9) times largely due to the murder of the 11-year-old boy by two teenagers in Kasoa.
